How to use MTN simple server to make MTN night data plan to work in day time

Ever since airtel started zapping airtel BIS data bundle, I gave you the  best alternative which I said is now the MTN night plan that offers a total of 4.5GB for one month and for N2,500.

I went further to say that if you exhaust the 1.5GB that you are allowed to use all day, that you can then combo the remaining 3GB for the night with glo N1,000 data plan that give you a total of 500mb for browsing all day as supplement.

But the MTN night plan still remaining the best alternative for browsing is even still getting better as I am even here to show you further how you can now use MTN simple server to even make the 3GB MTN night plan to also work in day time without any more worries on what hour of the day to get connected online.

Without even wasting any of your precious time let go straight down to business.

After you must have exhausted your bonus 1.5GB for the MTN night plan bundle, and must have been relegated to night browsing only from 9PM to 6AM the next day, but if you want to be browsing in the day time too with it here is the simple step you should follow to break that only night barrier and surf the internet anytime you so whish with the MTN night plan

= =>First thing you should do is to download the MTN simple server here. It is a zip folder and so you have to unzip it by extracting the MTN simple server file to your desirable location on your PC,

= =>After you must have extracted the simple server file, click and run the simple server app, it will open in a black background window (DOS), so just leave it open without closing that window.

= =>Open your Mozilla Firefox browser and configure as follows; for the old Mozilla locate the tool menu but for the latest Mozilla browser which is now more like chrome browser, locate the open menu at the top right hand corner of the browser, then the option= => Advance=>Network=>Settings tab= => then tick the manual proxy settings radio button and input 127.0.0.1 for the HTTP proxy and 8080 for the Port, then come immediately under it and tick the checkbox that says use this proxy server for all protocols, that’s all then go down and click the OK tab.

= => You can then connect your modem to your PC with your MTN night plan bundle and surf all day with the MTN simple server window open

Note: Do not use chrome browser for this because it will not work with it, but you can use Internet explorer if you so which but Mozilla Firefox is preferable and more so Mozilla now have latest version which is as fast as chrome.

So we are even assuming that you already updated your Mozilla to the latest version for a faster and better browsing experience.

  1. Great post man. However, this didn't work for me upon following all the steps. The only thing that comes to mind that may be the challenge is-I used my HTC android phone as hotspot to my PC (which I have always used successfully) instead of a modem.Could that be a reason?.I doubt.....

    1. You need to use a modem. When you tether it with phone, it doesn't always work. That is just the problem.
