Maybe most of you might have known what zip folders are and how to unzip/extract files in the zip folder with your different devices, but for the benefit of those that know nothing about it or only know how to unzip zip folders with their PC, I will be giving you a simple and easy steps-to follow-tutorial on how you can do same with your Android devices.

Throughout last week, many kept asking me on how they can use their Android devices to unzip zip folders especially after reading one of my articles on how to use MTN night plan to surf all day on Android devices without any more restriction to night browsing only.

There I gave a step by step pictorial method of achieving that, and I did mention that you have to download a zip folder and unzip the folder to see the necessary files to use in the process.

So after that article, questions on how to unzip zip folders with Android devices kept on pouring  into my inbox like leaking water tank.

I was left with no other option than to come up with this separate piece for that, since I don’t like leaving anybody out from tapping from valuable knowledge. I will be showing you how to unzip zip folders with android devices.

But before I delve into it, let us start it this way by throwing little light once again on what zip folder are and their benefits.

Well…zip folders like any other computer folder that you know are simple folders that contain file(s). Unlike the normal computer folder that you know, zip folders contain compressed file(s).

In other words, zip folders are mainly used to compress that bulky file(s) of yours to make them easy and faster to upload, transfer or download anywhere. For example, you can decide to compress a 100MB file(s) with a zip folder into a 1MB folder.

Anytime you come across a zip folder, you will see it with the same conventional folder icon, but with a vertical stripe of zip on it, indicating that it is a zip folder.

The first thing you need to do for you to access the compressed file(s) in it is to unzip or extract the files to any location of your choice in your device for easy access.

The problem now is that you cannot just unzip zip folders without having zip folder file manger app for the process.

Back to the main topic of the day which is how to unzip or extract files in zip folders with Android devices.

To unzip zip folders with your Android device, follow the steps below

= => use your Android and hit the Google play store

= => search for either Androzip or winzip for android app

= =>download any of them because both of them are efficient in managing your zip folder on your android.

= =>after you have downloaded any of the Androzip or winzip for android app, use it to locate the zip folder on your device that you want to unzip and unzip or extract the file(s) in the folder to a suitable location on your device.

Note you can also use the available options in the Anrozip or winzip for android app to play around with the zip folder…you can use it to unzip, copy, delete, move, compress, encrypt, search, organize your folders and files just the way you like and will do with your PC.
