By now you should know that social media network provides huge sources of traffic to blogs, sites and other online places which in turn can serve as huge potential in online marketing strategies, and we know that Facebook Fan Pages forms great part of the famous social media network that we have today on the internet, so we will be concentrating or talking more about Facebook Fan pages today.

Thousands if not millions of Facebook fan pages are created on a daily basis all over the world, mostly as a means of garnering more fans and a way to reach out to your fans with whatever vital products or information you have for them.

In other words it has become a huge source of genuine and quality traffic to many web-masters.

As you might have known by now that normally Facebook allow users to have maximum of 5,000 friend to each of their Facebook account and so when you have reached that maximum and still needs more, the only way now is for you to create a Facebook fan page whereby anybody that likes your Facebook fan page, automatically becomes your fan/friend, and with your fan page you can then beat the maximum 5,000 allowable friends in your Facebook friend list and also with that you can now have countless numbers of friends all as fans to that your fan page.

Having huge numbers of fans to any of your Facebook fan page don’t only mean that you are famous but mostly it is a means whereby internet users especially marketers, bloggers, sites owners and others reach out to their fans  with whatever they have for them.

For some, gathering much fans to their fan page is never an easy task for them, while for others it is much easier because it is even people that go looking for their pages to become their fans, all depending on the kind of individuals you are in the society and the things you do.

Almost every Facebook users’ needs huge amount of fans to their pages especially for the marketers because over the years now, it has provided and proven great platform for online marketing and targeting.

Creating a Facebook fan page is simple and fast and takes just a few minute. If you want to create one just log into your Facebook account on the Facebook website with your desktop computer, look for where you will see create a page, click on it and follow the guide, in few minutes you should be done.

Much said about Facebook fan page here and back to the topic of the day on the things that you should know when buying a Facebook page.

I have seen many people going to buy Facebook fan pages solely because of the voluminous fan base that the page has.

But wait for a moment here, for example, you own a tech blog and you needed quality traffic to your blog from a fan page you intended buying, and just because you saw the page with huge fanbase, you rushed and picked it up hoping to boost your traffic with it, but after buying and putting it to use, you still noticed that you are still lacking those blog visitors that you needed from the fan page you bought with great number of fans. What I am driving at here is called targeting.

That fan page that you bought might be a fan page created for jokes, politics, entertainment etc. and might not have anything to do with tech and you went and picked it up for a sum just because of the huge fan base it has, and off course you shouldn't expect it to drive magical traffic to your blog.

With proper researches we have come to know that even a 10k fan page that is targeted to your niche will perform far better in terms of driving traffic to your blog or to your online products than that fan page with 100k fans that you bought which targets comedians and jokes at the first place.

I use jokes Facebook page as reference here a lot because I noticed that most fan pages offered for sales with huge fans base are joke related (just a personal observation), I am not saying that you will not find fan pages on other niches with huge fan base, off course there are countless of them too.

So if you are going to get yourself a fan page, make sure first thing first is for you to know what exactly the fan page is all about and whether the page will suit your own audience too, it is what matters most and not just going for the page solely because of the large number of fans that it has. Here we say, not just quantity but quality (targeting) matters the most, but if you have both, thumbs up and it becomes the best though.

Secondly, buying a fan page does not automatically transform to traffic. So many believe that as soon as they must have bought the page, that is all, and that visitors will begin to come in droves to their blogs and they will also start getting offers to their marketed products immediately.

The question you should start asking yourself is how did the seller accumulated such huge amount of fans to that page that he/she sold to you.

Then you will start knowing that the owner of that fan page that you bought had already done great amount of work to the page in making sure that he/she kept the fans coming back to the page from time to time.

In other words you have to keep up the good work of the seller of that page by making sure you don’t kill the page, so you have to keep the page updated and going and on no account should you allow the page to lay idle and un-updated for too long, otherwise those fans that you thought you bought might just end up fleeing, when they are no longer getting juicy contents or offers as the case may be with the previous owners. So you have to keep that your new page alive by updating it.

An additional idea for you in keeping your page fresh is to be posting your juicy blog contents to your Facebook page whenever you update your blog.

Finally, in buying a Facebook fan page from any seller, what I really want to address here is the issue of transfer of page ownership from the seller to the buyer.

So many people have cried foul after buying a Facebook fan page as regards to page ownership transfer.

There are two basic things that are involved here. When buying a Facebook fan page, you should endeavour to know or strike out a clear deal with the seller of that page to know whether the seller is transferring the page out rightly to you or whether he/she is renting the page to you.

Outright transfer of the page means that the buyer of such page now becomes the rightful and sole owner of the page, he/she now takes total control of the page he/she bought, while renting the page on the other hand means that the seller will just offer or give you the buyer admin right to the page, maybe for some period of time to part take in the page updates and other things, with this you can post to the page and enjoy other admin rights but the owner (manager) still have the power and right to delete you from the page as an admin without informing you even after you must have thought you now owns the page.

I have seen a situation where an agreement was reached between a seller and a buyer of a Facebook fan page, and the deal was for the seller to rent or make the buyer an admin i.e. part taker to the page.

After the deal was struck, the seller, oblivious of how to transfer or rent page ownership went and made the buyer a manager instead of admin thereby giving the buyer equal power with him (seller), I believe by now you should know what transpired at the long run.

Here is what happened; the buyer after been made manager instead of admin, decided on his own to wickedly delete the rightful manager of the page and took charge of the page, and that is how the seller of that page lost his large fan base Facebook page to an unscrupulous buyer.

So you should be very careful, this time around both the seller and the buyer of a page when transferring or renting your fan page, meaning you should always endeavour to ask questions on the next point  of action to take or make researches in your online dealings whenever you have any sense of confusion or uncertainty within you.
