New G-mail mobile VS new Yahoo mail mobile interface

Change they say is the only thing that is constant in life. And not only just change, but changing for better is something that should always be sort for.

In this case, we look at two giants and most famous company online that have been offering for long free mailing services to millions of internet users all over the world. They are Google Mail and Yahoo Mail.

Google and Yahoo have become household name on the internet long ago and till today, that even at the mention of any of them; almost everybody at least knows what you want to talk about. These two companies have shaped the internet world the way we now see them today.

Little wonder you can easily hear people ask questions like this ‘What will the internet look like if there were no Google or Yahoo?’

In the past, for many, Yahoo is mainly synonymous to E-mail while Google even till  today for many, it is synonymous to Search Engine. But now we are beginning to acknowledge these two great companies and beginning to see that apart from mailing services, that the companies have more to offer to internet users, that is why it will be difficult to see internet users today carrying out their online activities without the use of any of the services provided by any of these two companies.

Today, we want to be focusing on the common services being offered by these two great companies, that is their mailing services.

We want to take a close look at the recent changes that both companies made on the appearance of their mailing services on mobile platform, especially when used with one of the famous mobile browser, opera mini. Just recently, if you view your mail either Yahoo mail or G-mail on your mobile device, you should notice the new appearance and changes that have been made.

Let start with the appearance and changes made to the most common features of the Yahoo mail mobile platform;
Yahoo mail new mobile interface

==>When you now open your yahoo mail on opera mini browser, as seen from the picture above, you will now see your inbox at the top left with a folder like icon by it left hand side. When you click on that folder like icon is when you will now see other folders, like your spam message, draft, sent mail, trash folders etc.

==>By the right hand side of your inbox, still at the top side of your page, you will see the compose icon and it is this icon that you will now click at if you want to compose a new mail.

==>At the bottom of the page, is other action icons aligned horizontally. There you can see common action icons like delete, star mail etc.

From the above, one can easily observe that unlike the previous yahoo mail mobile page where the actions are represented in words, most of the actions are now been represented by image icons only making it looks simpler to the eyes.

Now, taking a look of the changes made to that of G-mail;
New G-mail mobile interface

From the image above, the new G-mail look simple on the new mobile platform.

The noticeable changes on opening with an opera mini browser is a black stripe at the top containing your inbox tab at it left side and the blue compose tab still on black strip but at the right hand side. You will still notice another black stripe when you scroll to the bottom of the page, containing only the delete tab and more action tab.

Clicking on the inbox tab above takes you to another page where you can now see other actions like started, Draft, sent mail, spam folder, trash etc. while clicking the more actions tab below the page takes you where you will see actions like archive, delete, report spam, remove star etc.

On the middle of the Yahoo screen, you will see 10 of your most recent massages displayed while that of Google is 20 of your most recent messages that you will see.

What you saw above were just the new looks of Yahoo mail and G-mail mobile platform that was made recently.

As you continue to use them now, one should become more and more familiar with them and one thing that I have always known is that these changes that we see have always been geared towards making internet users have improved and better experience while making use of them.
